Lotte Department Stores

The promotion took place on 23-29 June in Lotte department stores at five different locations across South Korea – the Gangham branch in Seoul, the Dongtan branch in Gyeonggi, the Lotte Incheon branch, the main Lotte branch in Busan, and the Sangin branch in Daegu. More than 35,000 shoppers took advantage of this opportunity to taste some top quality food and drinks from Europe!

As part of this unique flavorful experience, every participating store transformed a section into a #ColoursbyEurope pop up zone! In these areas, visitors were able to taste and buy top-quality foods from different European Union countries, and entered a world of discovery with authentic and organic foods.

The official launch event took place on June 24th at the Gangnam branch in Seoul! During this event, Her Excellency Maria Castillo Fernandez, the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, attended the first of two cooking shows hosted by the famous TV personality Ida Daussy, who by the hand of the renowned Korean chef Jaehun Lee, owner of Ca’del Lupo restaurant, showed the audience how to cook with products from Europe! They also learned about the quality and safety standards that underpin the excellence of European food and drinks.

As part of the event, visitors were able to try top-quality and tasty EU agri-food products, renowned for their safety, such as European deli meats, olives and olive oils, wines, spirits, cheeses, confectionary and a range of organic products. A wide variety of products with Geographical Indications were available for visitors, offering them a taste of European products with specific qualities linked to their geographical origin.

Here we can read a few testimonies of visitors:

“The chef was very well explained so I could have more interest in food and ingredients. Thank you.”

“I learned about EU quality labels so I can look for it in the supermarkets”

“Products are varied and quality is high. I will use more often!”
