Jagnięcina Podhalańska PGI

Origin: Poland
Jagnięcina Podhalańska PGI

Jagnięcina podhalańska PGI is lamb produced from three specific breeds of sheep: Polish mountain sheep, coloured mountain sheep and Podhale zackels.

The lambs are born and reared in Silesia and Lesser Poland provinces in Poland, a region with a unique vegetation that affects their feeding – their mother's milk, green fodder, hay and hay silage – and thereby the distinctive characteristics of the meat. It is distinguished by its light pink colour and its soft but elastic structure, has low carcass fat, and a delicate and succulent flavour, with an aroma similar to that of venison. Jagnięcina podhalańska PGI is lovely roasted, or in stews, with vegetables and potatoes.
