Slovenská bryndza PGI

Origin: Slovakia
SLOVAKIA-Slovenska-bryndza

Slovenská bryndza PGI is a sheep’s cheese from Slovakia. It is white, tangy, crumbly, and slightly moist, with a sharp flavour and salty finish, similar to the taste of feta.

Slovenská bryndza PGI is fermented with lactobacilli and for this reason is considered healthy for the gut. Slovaks have been eating it since the 14th century, and it is a key ingredient in Slovakia’s national dish, bryndzove halusky: boiled pieces of potato dough mixed with the cheese and sprinkled with pork scratching.

Slovenská bryndza PGI can be added to salads, crumbled on top of scrambled eggs, or added to all sorts of savoury dishes to add flavour.
