Instructions:

  1. Choosing the Cheese:

You should choose between 3 and 5 types of EU cheese, depending on the number of people. Every EU cheese has its unique flavour, texture, and smell. We would recommend the Irish mature Cheddar (Ireland), Comte PDO (France), a semi-hard cheese with a nutty taste and a semi-soft white cheese (Denmark). They can be enjoyed alone, with a dash of olive oil, added to a salad or with cured meats.

Tips: Try to choose a variety of EU cheeses in order to have various flavours, textures, and smells. There should be both soft cheeses that can be sliced, semi-soft cheeses and hard cheeses.
You can find the GI labelling schemes on the cheese package or close to the cheese’s name. These labels protect the name of the products and can be of two types:

    • The PGI label indicates at least one of the stages of production, processing or preparation takes place in the region.
    • The PDO label is used when every part of the production, processing and preparation process takes place in the specific region.
  2. Pick your EU meat

When picking meats for a charcuterie platter, you can go with the equal number of cheeses
We would recommend the Jamón Serrano PDO (Spain), Schwarzwälder Schinken PGI (Germany), Parma PDO (Italy).
Tips:  EU meat is appreciated for its taste and high quality as a result of a perfectly organised production chain. The natural growth of animals with highest attention to their welfare is the European way of creating quality meat. So, if you are looking for some meats for your charcuterie platter, look for EU meat.

  3. EU Crackers and bread

You can choose different types of crackers and bread, both salty or unsalted, to pair with your favourite EU Cheese and Meat.
The European Union has established the most comprehensive regulations for the safety of cereal and cereal derived products, thus you can eat EU crackers and bread with peace of mind.

  4. Serving

Serve everything on a wooden platter or a pre-cut marble.

Tips: Fruit jams and honey combine well with cheeses, you can serve them together with your platter.
