Budějovické Pivo PGI
Origin: Czech Republic

Budějovické pivo PGI, or beer from Budějovické, is a pale lager beer from the South Bohemia region of Czechia. The beer is a deep golden colour, with a white head or foam top.
It has a moderately bitter, roasted flavour and is best when paired with local Czech dishes such as sausages, sauerkrauts, and soups, or other hearty dishes.
The beer has been brewed in the town of České Budějovice since 1265, using the same raw materials: water, barley, hops and yeast. Budějovické pivo was popular at the royal Bohemian court in the 16th century, and in this period the so-called ‘golden lane of the Czech breweries’ was established in the area stretching from Plzeň to České Budějovice.
