Westlandse Druif PGI

Westlandse druif PGI are grapes from the Westland region of South Holland in the Netherlands. A small oval-shaped fruit, the colour ranges from deep blue to a whitish green. They have a distinctive aroma and are renowned for their shapely clusters ; the flesh is juicy and firm, with a fresh, sweet taste.
Westlandse druif PGI are grown on a small scale in special heated glass houses, which helps the grapes grow faster due to exposure to light and heat. They are so popular in the Westlandse region that one can even find special ‘grape menus’ in local restaurants, and grape festivals and guided tours are organised during harvest time.
They can be enjoyed on their own, as a healthy snack, or in a fruit salad. They also go well with cheese and make a nice addition to a cheese platter served with wine.
