Pollo y Capón del Prat PGI

Pollo y Capón del Prat PGI is chicken from Catalonia's native Prat breed. Traditionally raised in a small area southeast of Barcelona, these chickens and capons are not only valued for their succulent meat but also for their good-sized eggs.

The chickens and capons are raised on the ground, with a density not exceeding more than 8 animals per square meter. Their diet consists of cereals, soy and sunflower cakes, rapeseed cakes, alfalfa meal, dairy products and beet molasses. These factors are all contribute to the distinctiveness of the chicken.

Pollo y Capón del Prat PGI is very versatile; it is very good when roasted, grilled or split roasted, oven roasted or pan seared. It can be combined with all of vegetables, mushrooms, spices, apples and cider.
